Why he wrote it

Charles Dickens wrote the novel Great Expectations in order to depict not only his life but the life of a orphan or poor person in England At that time. Pip is supposed to represent Dickens lifestyle and the struggles that he went through. I also think that maybe he wrote it so that it could inspire other poor people to do something with their lives, since the novel was written in the language of the poor maybe he wanted to teach them something.
